  Library classification 1. Libraries store and manage thousands materials. These materials need to be organized in a manner that allows the easiest possible access for the end user. Classification Systems are the tools Libraries use to organize books and other library materials. Classification Systems consists of subjects that can be located by call number.   The history, purpose, and deciphering of the Library of Congress Classification to efficiently find books in the Library.

THE CLASSIFICATION OF BOOKS IN LIBRARIES' F OR some time it has been the conviction of the writer that the content of library-school instruction and of the chief published literature relating to book classification in libraries is consider-ably behind the theory and method as developed and employed in some centers of library service.   A library classification system is the way that books, videos, and other items are put in order on the shelf.
